LAD #7 Washington's Farewell Adress

In Washington's Farewell address he declares that he will not be running for president in the upcoming election. Also he states that he wished to retire earlier but did not for the betterment of the country. Mainly he declared that it is necessary to keep the government unified and to stick to the Democratic basis that he helped set the country up upon. Also a wish of his was to have a respected and capable man to proceed him. One point that was important to Washington was the discouragement of alliances with other nations because it could cause many problems in the aspect of foreign affairs.
